It’s 2026!

2025 is in the past and I can’t quite hit the brakes. Too much happening, too much to do. Just TOO MUCH!

I NEVER. Ever. Want to go back to being a kid counting time to be a grown up, but… I do wish I could find the grail to pause time like Rajani LaRocca - time masterer. I’m watching you.

A RAKHI FOR RAKESH

Since launching my third picture book, A RAKHI FOR RAKESH, a lot of life has happened. I also slowed down on a lot of things. And I stopped hustling and promoting and doing a lot of the ‘author’ things I had been doing and was expected to do. I ended up taking a lot of time to reflect, reinvent myself (maybe?), and try to sort myself out? I don’t know.

But all I know is that I’m still in this forever playing catch up mode, but definitely taking it a whole lot easier.

A big thank you to everyone who turned out to celebrate my third book with me back in July. It’s a very personal title and am thrilled to have received two favorable trade reviews and a #PADIBA Commendation this month! Can’t thank the judging committee and Read Your World enough for honoring our book!

BACK IN THE QUERYING TRENCHES…

I parted ways with my long-time agent after seven years and three books together.

I’m beyond grateful she put me on the publishing map and that we have three incredible books we’re both very proud of. These books have garnered awards and have been well received by so many hearts and hands around the world.

Now, that I’m back in the querying trenches, I spent some time in NYC a few weeks ago connecting with friends, getting a manuscript consultation, and working on adding illustration to my #kidlit repertoire.

In the interim, I’m working on securing representation! Can’t wait to see where I land next! Wish me luck.
